The year 2011 was an exciting milestone for the National Armored Cable Manufacturers Association as it marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Association.
The Association membership includes AFC Cable Systems, Encore Wire Corporation, and Southwire Company, LLC.
The Association was created to promote the use of armored cable and to educate electrical industry members.
From its inception, the Association entered codes, standards and educational arenas to provide information to users, installers and inspectors on the selection, installation and safe use of armored cable products.
The Association was honored to have the late George Flach as the first Technical Director of the Association.
We are now honored to have Phil Simmons, former President of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and former Chief Electrical Inspector for the State of Washington, serving as Technical Director
In 1986, the Association was formed by American Flexible Conduit Company, American Metal Moulding Company, Cerro Wire Company, Ettco Wire and Cable Company, Steelflex Electro Corporation and Triangle Conduit and Cable Company.
Although the membership has changed, the mission remains to educate and promote the safe use of armored cable products.
